    Fall Academy

The Fall Academy has been the ultimate player development program in Ohio for over 30 years. The Junior Fall Academy is a modified program designed specifically for players 12 and under.

    Who is it for?

The Fall Academy is designed for players 13 and older for the upcoming season. The Junior Fall Academy is designed for ages 12 and under.

    What is Fall Academy?

Players receive position-specific instruction from coaches with college and/or professional playing experience. Our coaches follow a detailed plan covering all phases of the game – hitting, bunting, base running, fielding, pitching, team defense, situational baseball, conditioning, speed/agility, etc.

We also work on and improve each player’s mental and emotional development, which is even more important than the physical skills.

We play games played under the supervision of our coaching staff to enhance competition readiness.

    When is it?

The Fall Academy takes place on Mondays & Wednesdays with games on select Sundays. Weekday practices will be from 5:00 – 7:00. Games begin at 10:00. There will be 25 sessions.

The Junior Fall Academy takes place on Tuesday and Thursday. Practices will be from 5:00 – 6:30. There will be 20 sessions.

Both programs being in August and run through mid-October.

Where does Fall Academy take place?

Sessions will be at Huntington Park, except when the Columbus Clippers schedule conflicts. We will then move to an alternate location.

    Why?

In today’s youth baseball culture, everyone focuses too much on instant gratification. They claim to be all about “development” but just want to play games all the time so they can win a trophy and post it on Facebook. This is fine, but it’s not what we are about. The fall is the time to take a step back, learn and improve. Learn baseball the OI way! The development process is a marathon, not a sprint. That is what the Fall Academy is all about.
